Let me introduce myself...
I believe in helping clients work on discovering their strengths and empowering them to overcome struggles they may be facing. As a therapist, I like to get to know clients and collaborate with them on their goals of therapy. My approach to therapy is to use an integrated mix of techniques, as I believe each client is unique and the therapy process should be tailored to fit that client. I believe that people are able to make changes in their life if they truly want to, regardless of their life situation.
As a therapist, I have worked with children, adolescents, families and adult individuals in a variety of settings. When I work with children, I integrate play therapy in a directive or non-directive way, but I also work with the parents or guardians to promote healthy change within the child's environment. My work with adolescents and adults emphasizes strengths and empowerment to adapt healthy coping skills while working towards optimal mental health.
I believe that the best therapy is empathetic, that all people have within them the capacity for healing, and that courage and strength are discovered when people are allowed the space to express and release emotional pain. I want to support you by listening to your story, discussing your current situation and help you find solutions that work for you. I have worked with adolescents, adults, children, couples and families who struggle with relationship issues. conflict, communication issues, mental health symptoms, parenting difficulties, health issues, addictions, grief, life transitions, career struggles, and overall stress. In addition, I am a Certified Facilitator (Prepare & Enrich Assessment) for couples experiencing difficulty or premarital counseling.
When you or your child come into therapy, I will provide kindness and empathy when discussing current problems or transitions. Everyone is unique and has different concern areas. Therefore, we will work together to achieve set goals and a healthy state of mind or lifestyle. You or your loved one deserve to live the best life possible.
Let me introduce myself...
I believe that we all have the capability to survive through difficult times and unwanted emotions. I also believe that we are all worthwhile and valuable individuals that have something valuable to offer others. However, sometimes the world and people around us can seem discouraging and shame-based. One of my goals as a therapist is to model self-worth and provide my clients with constant encouragement until they are able to see themselves as a worthwhile person that is capable of also encouraging others. I love to work with individuals who struggle with emotion regulation and may have been labeled with the following disorders: personality disorders, substance abuse, bi-polar, PTSD, generalized anxiety, panic disorder, OCD, and major depression, that would benefit from dialectical behavior therapy. I also specialize in addictions as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor, understanding addictions as yet another attempted solution an individual has found to help them cope with the unwanted emotions that life brings. I love working with teens and school aged children, including their families and parents.
