Understanding Your Invoice and Cost of Care

• Watch the video so you understand health insurance plans and terms used.
• Our clinic charges pre-determined fees for service types. Health insurance plans and private pay patients have the same fees. 
• And then the health insurance plan tells us how much we are required to discount our services. This discounted amount is called a contractual obligation. Many health insurance plans like to state that they have great negotiation skills and they get you, the patient, a great discounted rate through their plan. This is not true. They dictate the rates by what type of facility it is and the demographic area. 
• Some health insurance plans also include Mn Provider Tax, which is a tax the provider owes back to the state of MN to help offset the expense the state has to pay to cover individuals on Medicaid/medical assistance. 
• The amounts listed below for each insurance plan includes the amount that we as the provider have to pay to the state in taxes. There are also other things identified by insurance such as patient deductibles, co-pays, co-insurance, and managed care obligations. Watch this video to learn more about understanding insurance.

Each amount below is the fee we bill health insurance and families that make over $250,000 a year. 

Diagnostic Intake Session (may be required to be repeated annually or every 3-5 years by the state of MN or health insurance plan) (the appointment is up to an hour or more and the paperwork completed by the therapist can take up to 2 hours.) $300

60 Minute Session=$250

45 Minute Session=$200

30 Minute Session=$150

Family Therapy (30-60 minutes)=$200

Family Therapy without client present (30-60 minutes)=$200
